The NHL is set to launch a new youth-centric animated program that will recap recent games and air weekly on NHL Network, Sportsnet, and the NHL YouTube channel. The first episode will feature the Canucks’ victory over the Washington Capitals, with player avatars powered by NHL EDGE Positional Data visualizing the on-ice action. The program, titled “NHL Hockeyverse Matchup of the Week,” will showcase players in an outdoor environment inspired by Canadian cities, with unique camera angles and teenage avatar commentators providing fun insights. This initiative aims to engage young fans and families with the NHL, offering a new way to experience and connect with the sport. Produced by NHL Productions in collaboration with Sony’s Beyond Sports, the program will air on Saturdays at 9 a.m. ET on NHL Network and Sportsnet.
