“Saturday Night Live” Celebrates 50th Season with Stacked Lineup of Hosts and Musical Guests

As “Saturday Night Live” gears up for its landmark 50th season, fans are in for a treat with a star-studded lineup of hosts and musical guests set to grace the iconic sketch comedy show. From Emmy winners to fan favorites, the upcoming season promises to deliver unforgettable moments and gut-busting laughter.

The season premiere, airing on Sept. 28, will be hosted by “Hacks” star Jean Smart, alongside musical guest Jelly Roll, both making their debut on the show. The following weeks will feature a lineup of talented hosts, including comedian Nate Bargatze, Ariana Grande, Michael Keaton, and John Mulaney. Musical guests such as Coldplay, Stevie Nicks, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan will also join the show for unforgettable performances.

One of the highlights of the season will be the post-election episode on Nov. 9, with Bill Burr returning as host for the second time, alongside musical guest Mk.gee. The anticipation continues with Charli XCX pulling double duty as both host and musical guest on Nov. 16.

As the season progresses into December, audiences can look forward to Paul Mescal hosting the Dec. 7 show with musical guest Shaboozey. Former cast members Chris Rock and Martin Short are set to close out the year with appearances on Dec. 14 and Dec. 21, respectively, accompanied by musical guests Gracie Abrams and Hozier.

Moving into the new year, “SNL” will kick off 2025 with Dave Chappelle making his fourth appearance as host on Jan. 18, with the musical guest GloRilla. The excitement continues with Timothée Chalamet serving as both host and musical guest on Jan. 25, following his portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown.”

In addition to its regular Saturday night episodes, “SNL” will celebrate its milestone 50th anniversary with a primetime special in February 2025, showcasing highlights from the show’s rich history and iconic moments.

The season’s roster will also see the addition of three new featured players, Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline, joining the returning cast members for Season 50. The cast will also see promotions for Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker, while bidding farewell to Punkie Johnson, Molly Kearney, and Chloe Troast.

With a lineup that includes a mix of seasoned veterans and fresh talent, Season 50 of “Saturday Night Live” promises to be a celebration of comedy, music, and entertainment.
