Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Officially End Marriage

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce has been finalized, officially making them single individuals once again. TMZ reported the news on February 21, noting that despite finalizing the divorce on January 6, it took until February 20 for the judge to give the official approval.

The relationship between Lopez and Affleck dates back over two decades. Meeting on the set of “Gigli” in 2001, they got engaged in November 2002 and were set to marry in September 2003. However, they called off the wedding shortly before the scheduled date and confirmed their split in January 2004.

After rekindling their romance in May 2021, they got engaged again in April 2022 and had two wedding ceremonies, one in Las Vegas in July and another in Georgia the following month. However, in May 2024, rumors circulated about trouble in paradise as they were not seen together for nearly seven weeks, with Affleck later moving out of their Beverly Hills home.

Despite efforts to reconcile, in August, Lopez ultimately filed for divorce from Affleck, listing their separation date as April 26. Notably, she submitted the paperwork herself on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding, a move seen as a deliberate message.

The divorce filing without an attorney suggested to experts that the couple had likely resolved most issues beforehand. Lopez’s previous marriages to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony, as well as Affleck’s marriage to Jennifer Garner, were also mentioned.

The conclusion of the Lopez-Affleck union marks the end of a chapter in both their lives, leaving fans to wonder what the future holds for these two Hollywood stars.
