Exclusive: Horror Masters Radio Silence Join Forces with CAA

Radio Silence Signs with CAA for Horror Filmmaking Endeavors

Radio Silence, the renowned horror filmmaking banner responsible for reviving the iconic Scream franchise, has recently inked a deal with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). This move marks a significant shift for the banner, which was previously represented by UTA.

The team at Radio Silence, consisting of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, gained recognition for their work on Universal’s 2024 vampire thriller Abigail. While previously working alongside producer Chad Villella, it is noted that Villella is no longer affiliated with the outfit.

Radio Silence made their mark in the horror genre with contributions to anthologies like V/H/S and Southbound, eventually debuting their first feature film with the supernatural horror flick Devil’s Due in 2014. Their breakout success came in 2019 with the release of the black horror comedy Ready or Not, which exceeded expectations by grossing over $57 million against a modest $6 million budget.

Buoyed by their success, Radio Silence took on the monumental task of reviving the Scream franchise with installments in 2022 and 2023, both starring Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. However, the duo decided to shift their focus to Abigail, which featured Barrera, Dan Stevens, and Kathryn Newton, among others.

Currently, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are gearing up for a sequel to Ready or Not, reuniting with star Samara Weaving and collaborating with Searchlight Pictures. The project is slated for a spring shoot.

The talented duo continues to be represented by attorney Tara Kole at Johnson Shapiro, showcasing their commitment to quality filmmaking and storytelling. With their unique vision and creative prowess, Radio Silence is poised to deliver more thrilling and captivating projects in the world of horror cinema.
