Spanish filmmaker Eva Libertad’s new feature film “Deaf” is set to premiere at the 75th edition of the Berlin Film Festival. The movie, adapted from Libertad’s Goya Award-nominated short film of the same name, stars Miriam Garlo, Álvaro Cervantes, Elena Irureta, and Joaquín Notario.

The storyline revolves around Ángela, a deaf woman expecting a child with her hearing partner, Héctor. The arrival of the baby causes a crisis in their relationship as Ángela grapples with the challenges of raising her daughter in a world not designed for her.

Two exclusive clips from the film reveal a glimpse into the emotional narrative. The first clip shows the new parents sharing a children’s story with their baby, while the second clip captures a family meal filled with surprises, worries, and mixed emotions.

“Deaf” is produced by Miriam Porté for Distinto Films in collaboration with Nuria Muñoz Ortín for Nexus CreaFilms and Amalia Blanco for A Contracorriente Films. The Berlin Film Festival 2025 will run from Feb. 13-23.
