According to a statement from Machado’s team on social media platform X, she was intercepted and forcibly removed from the motorcycle she was traveling on. Gunshots were fired during the incident, and she was taken away by force. While in captivity, she was coerced into recording several videos before being eventually released.
The team added that Machado will address the nation in the coming hours to provide more information about the ordeal.
