Dave Fishwick, a big-hearted banker from Burnley, has had an incredible journey that led him to take on the UK’s big banks and eventually the predatory payday lenders. From leaving school at 16 with no qualifications to becoming a self-made millionaire and entrepreneur, Fishwick’s story is one of resilience and determination.

In 2011, he opened the first community bank in the UK in 120 years and became a champion of better financial regulation. His remarkable rise to prominence was captured in the smash film “Bank of Dave” by Netflix. Now, a sequel, “Bank of Dave 2: The Lone Ranger,” continues his battle against payday lenders.

In the sequel, Fishwick has three cameo roles, including playing a henchman for a malevolent payday lender boss. The film blurs the lines between reality and fiction as Fishwick chases his fictional alter-ego played by actor Rory Kinnear.
