Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco are still expected to attend as their film, “Emilia Pérez,” is nominated for Best Picture.
This year’s nominations also mark a historic moment as Karla Sofía Gascón becomes the first openly trans actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for her role in “Emilia Pérez.” The ceremony will be dedicated to honoring Los Angeles amid the recent wildfires that have devastated the city.
