Hawaii-bound Waves set to compete in Amer Ari Intercollegiate

The Pepperdine men’s golf team is gearing up for the upcoming Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Kohala Coast, Hawaii, taking place on February 6-8. The Waves have a strong history at this tournament, having emerged victorious five years ago with a remarkable three-round score of 825 (-39). In the 2020 edition of the tournament, William Mouw put on an impressive performance, clinching the individual championship with a score of 203 (-13).

The upcoming tournament will be held at the Mauna Lani North Course in Kohala Coast, Hawaii, featuring 54 holes of golf with 18 holes played each day. The event will kick off with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. PT. The Waves will be paired with teams such as #21 Texas Tech, UC Davis, and Osaka Gakuin for the first round, followed by matchups with other strong teams in subsequent rounds.

Live scoring for the event will be available through Scoreboard by Clipp’d on the men’s golf schedule page of the Pepperdine website. A total of 20 teams and 125 players will participate in this week’s event, including notable teams like #2 ASU, #5 Texas, and #10 UCLA.

The Amer Ari Intercollegiate has a rich history, boasting past participants like Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Matt Kuchar. Originally known as the “Taylor Made Big Island Intercollegiate Golf Tournament,” this event has evolved over the years and is now named after longtime supporter Amer Ari.
