• New Casting Updates and Premiere Date Revealed for Movie Sequel

Daniel Craig is set to return as detective Benoit Blanc in the third installment of Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” films, titled “Wake Up Dead Man.” The original film, released in 2019, was a surprise hit both at the box office and with critics, earning Johnson an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay. Johnson has expressed his desire to continue the series in the style of Agatha Christie’s books. Netflix has secured a deal with Johnson for two more sequels, with Daniel Craig reprising his role in each film.

The second film in the series, “Knives Out: Glass Onion,” was released in 2022 and featured an ensemble cast including Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, and Edward Norton. For the third film, “Wake Up Dead Man,” the cast will include Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Jeremy Renner. The plot details are being kept under wraps, but Netflix has teased that Blanc will be solving a new murder mystery in an undisclosed setting surrounded by a colorful cast of suspects. The global release date for “Wake Up Dead Man” is set for Fall 2025.

Production has already begun on the film, with Rian Johnson sharing a tweet featuring Daniel Craig in character as Benoit Blanc. The photo shows Craig with longer hair, hinting at a new look for the detective in this installment. Fans of the series can look forward to another thrilling mystery with the return of Benoit Blanc in “Wake Up Dead Man.”
