Peacock joins forces with Josh and Benny Safdie for new drama series ‘Superfakes’

Peacock has added a new crime drama series titled “Superfakes” to its lineup, delving into the world of counterfeit luxury goods. The show, created by writer and showrunner Alice Ju, will revolve around a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who gets involved in a dangerous black market to provide a suburban life for her family.

Executive producers for “Superfakes” include Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie, known for their work on “Uncut Gems” and “The Curse.” Alice Ju, who previously worked on shows like “Beef” and “Poker Face,” will also be involved in this upcoming series.

The Safdie brothers have a track record of successful projects, including “The Curse” on Showtime and the upcoming “Pee-wee as Himself.” Ju’s writing credits include popular shows like “Russian Doll” and “The Other Two.”

Joining the team as executive producers are Howard Klein, Olivia Gerke, Ronald Bronstein, and Eli Bush. “Superfakes” is set to join Peacock’s lineup of upcoming dramas, alongside other highly anticipated series like “The Five-Star Weekend” starring Jennifer Garner, “All Her Fault” with Sarah Snook, and “The Good Daughter” based on a novel by Karin Slaughter.
