Star Wars Reveals Mind-Blowing Old Republic Easter Egg

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 7 – Old Republic Easter Egg Revealed

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 7.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 7 features a subtle nod to The Old Republic, hinting at the galaxy’s ancient history of pirate activity. The show has been exploring connections to the broader Star Wars galaxy, especially its ties to the Old Republic era.

One of the notable planets visited in Skeleton Crew is At Attin, revealed to be the last surviving Old Republic mint, where the currency originated. This world-building element is a rare sight in Star Wars canon, reminiscent of the old Expanded Universe.

In episode 7, Jod and his former pirate crew arrive at At Attin, encountering a mysterious barrier. Jod sends a Quarren pirate snub fighter into the abyss, with the starfighter’s call sign being "Ravager One," a reference to The Old Republic MMO’s pirate gang known as the Ravagers.

The Ravagers in The Old Republic flourished 3,600 years before the Skywalker Saga, based on the planet Rishi and led by a pirate named Ruugar. The show’s exploration of the pirate code and mutinies aligns well with this reference, adding depth to the narrative.

While the direct continuity between the Ravagers and Jod’s pirates in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is unclear, the homage could be Jod’s way of honoring the past and instilling fear in his enemies. This deep cut into Star Wars lore is a welcome addition, offering more connections to the rich history of the Old Republic.
