Craig T. Nelson celebrates Packers movie ‘Green and Gold’ at Lambeau Field

At a recent VIP event for the upcoming release of the film “Green and Gold,” guests gathered at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The event, held in the home of the Green Bay Packers, featured a red carpet adorned with a whitetail buck mount and a Chevy Silverado pickup truck from the movie. Attendees wore everything from plaid shirts with bow ties to cowboy boots and Packers gear.

Among the guests were Wisconsin comedian Charlie Berens, who plays a radio host in the film, and real-life Packers radio announcer Wayne Larrivee. The star of the film, Craig T. Nelson, who plays the central character of Buck, a dairy farmer betting on the Packers to save his family’s land, addressed the crowd in a plaid shirt, gold puffer jacket, and winter attire befitting the Wisconsin temperatures.

Nelson spoke of his family’s farming roots in Wisconsin and his connection to the film’s story, which highlights values of community and stewardship. The movie, a collaboration with Culver’s Thank You Farmers Project and the Packers, is set for release in 1,000 theaters on January 31.

The event also featured music performances, comedy sets, and interactions with local FFA members, adding to the familial and tight-knit atmosphere on set. The spirit of community in Wisconsin and the Midwest shines through in the film, as locals opened their doors and hearts to the filmmakers.

Overall, “Green and Gold” is described as a tearjerker with heart and soul, showcasing the best of the Midwest and Wisconsin. Tickets for the film can be purchased, and theater locations can be found on the Fathom Events website.
