Bob Uecker, the legendary voice of the Milwaukee Brewers for 54 years, passed away at the age of 90, leaving a giant void in the hearts of fans. He battled small cell lung cancer privately since early 2023. Known for his wit, charisma, and love for baseball, Uecker’s legacy will forever be cherished.

Uecker, a Baseball Hall of Famer, started his career as a catcher in 1956 before transitioning to broadcasting in 1969 with the Braves. In 1971, he joined the Brewers, becoming a national treasure with his iconic catchphrases like “Get up! Get outta here! Gone!”

His contributions to the game earned him numerous accolades, including induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. Uecker’s fame extended beyond baseball with appearances in Miller Lite commercials, TV shows, and movies like “Major League.”

Despite health challenges and personal tragedies, Uecker remained a philanthropist and devoted his time to charitable causes. His passing is mourned by family, friends, and fans worldwide.

Governor Tony Evers declared Sept. 25 as “Bob Uecker Day” in 2021, honoring his 50-year broadcasting career. Uecker’s impact on the Brewers and the state of Wisconsin is immeasurable, and his memory will live on through his legendary contributions to the sport and entertainment industry.
